Feast of Maresina

Feast of Maresina
We are so lucky to live in a territory where the natural wonders come together with the richness of a land which provides us in every season with herbs which grow everywhere spontaneously,as well as with products grown and taken care of by hard work.
All the Agno valley is rich in traditions which celebrate this richness and generosity in various moments of the year.
La Festa della Maresina (a mother-grass) represents one of these precious treasures.
Origins of the Feast.
Maresina,an appellation controlée herb, reminds us of the coming back of spring,of the taste of many wild herbs which have become memories of a far away past. This Feast is a way to spread the taste and flavour of our typical goods which must never be forgotten.
In Valdagno its name is connected in first place to the traditional “fritola”(a dough made of flour, cooked rice and water) but it is also connected with gastronomic and cultural initiatives. In the last few years several combinations have been experienced, merging the local cuisine with innovation.
Every year in April
The annual appointment with the Feast of Maresina (begun in 2013) enlivens the historic centre of Valdagno in April and here and at this very moment, you are overwhelmed with flavours and tastes which mingle with the local dialect as well as with the stories and the secrets of our grandmothers so to evoke memories to pass on to new generations.
