OUR "CAMPANILE"

Six monthly magazine of Valle dell'Agno
Since 1956 it has been recounting the history of Valdagno; it is the voice of its territory,of our town,of the valley; it is its anthem, its flag, its landmark. It is a six monthly magazine which provides information about events and happenings in the Valle dell’Agno (the Agno Valley).
Its first edition was published at Christmas and the writing then was backed by an image of the town: the clocktower, the river, the outline of the mountains. Along these sixty-eight years which have passed by, many things have changed: the writing, the image which has vanished, the language and the layout, anything but its spirit. What matters most is that our pride to belong to such a place and such a community is still there and we try hard to keep it up for the next generations. “Il Campanile”was actually born for the valdagnesi who had emigrated and lived far away; it was one of the threads which kept close together worlds otherwise thousands of kilometres apart. It was also this way that you could reach the valdagnesi all over the world. Our “Campanile”for almost seventy years has been writing the history of our beautiful town, of its talents, of its life. A space where to give vent to young people,to schools and associations.

The title of the newsletter clearly states its purpose: that is, to recall many dear memories, to revive feelings, affections and friendships, to refresh spirits and warm bonds. It identifies the heart of our valley which reflects in itself the Sacred Hill of Bellavista and which from the hill of S. Maria Panisacco raises its spirit of fraternal solidarity towards the absent, while from the high chimneys of the factories the smoke that rises indicates the centuries-old industriousness of the sons of this city. News of events, innovations and constructions, happenings and novelties big and small, happy or sad, will appear in this newsletter to make all the people of Valdagne, especially those absent, participate in the life of their town.
